Jake Okoye

Jake is the drummer and percussionist of Glass Tides. His drumming style -- precise, dynamic, and deeply groovy -- provides the rhythmic backbone that keeps the band's expansive soundscapes grounded and physical.

Jake grew up playing in his father's jazz ensemble in Birmingham before studying at the Royal Academy of Music. His jazz background is evident in his fluid, conversational playing style, particularly on the band's live recordings where his improvisational instincts shine.

He is the newest member of Glass Tides, joining in 2018 after the departure of original drummer Callum Webb.
